Our Executive Director, Sage Lewis, happens to also be an auctioneer. He runs Rubber City Auctions.
So it makes sense for us to have auctions to raise money for our charity.
100% of the money from our charity auctions goes directly to the charity. Sage donates his time to these auctions.
So, when you donate items for our auctions you can rest easy knowing that the money is going directly to the homeless people we support.
Additionally, we use our charity auctions as a way to teach people living at Second Chance Village, our tent community, the auction business. We need clerks, cashiers, organizers and ring men. These are skills that they can use at other auction houses and in the overall resale industry.
We can come pick up items and we can even do clean outs of houses.
Oftentimes you are better off taking a tax deduction for your items that you are trying to sell them. Traditional household items unfortunately don’t bring a lot of money. But when you donate them to our charity the proceeds make a huge difference to our facility.
Please call us for more information: 330-416-7519. We’d love to talk more about this with you.
We LOVE to auction items like:
- Antique toys
- Old Trunks
- Interesting art
- Video game systems
Furniture is a little tricky for us sometimes. We can take it if we have the space. But sometimes we’re filled up and have to hold off on furniture.
Baby items are typically hard for us to sell.
We take clothes donations but they too don’t always sell well.
But when in doubt just give us a call. We can talk about how we can work together.
You can get a donation receipt from us or you can download it here: Donation Receipt – The Homeless Charity.
Thank you so much for all your support. The most amazing part of this journey is seeing all the love and support we get from the community.
